Cybersecurity Consultant, Contract

I'm looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Consultant to partner with my client in Dublin to drive the implementation and management of their cybersecurity strategy. The role offers flexibility with remote working and requires a proactive, hands-on approach to securing critical infrastructure and systems. Must have prior telecoms experience.

Initial 6 month contract, will roll. Rates €400 - €420/day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of the organisation’s cybersecurity strategy in line with regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001).

  • Manage and oversee security domains including identity and access management, personnel security, network security, information protection, secure software development, cyber defence, and security best practices.

  • Conduct ongoing security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential threats.

  • Maintain and update cyber risk registers, and perform regular risk assessments across systems, infrastructure, and services.

  • Assess and manage third-party and supply chain security risks, with a particular focus on vendors providing network equipment (e.g., RAN, EPC/5GC, routers, switches).

  • Provide regular reporting to senior management on cybersecurity posture, incidents, and initiatives for continuous improvement.}

Required Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in cybersecurity, preferably within telecoms or critical infrastructure environments.

  • Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.

  • Strong understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate effectively in challenging and dynamic environments.
